Engineering Living, Learning Community

Join the new community of Engineering Freshman in Gila Hall! This is a great opportunity to live, learn, and socialize with your peers.

The Engineering Living-Learning Community in Gila Hall brings together first-year engineering students to further their academic, social, professional, and personal development. Students will have the opportunity to:

  • form a cohort of peers who attend classes together
  • receive guidance from a faculty member
  • pursue social networking among the UA engineering community
  • explore the engineering professions
  • academic advising & tutoring in-house
  • presentations by engineering societies & clubs

All Engineering freshmen students are encouraged to apply, however, non-honors students are given priority in the selection process.

Steps to apply to live in the Engineering Zone are as follows:

  1. FIRST:  Complete a Residence Life Application
  2. Required:  You must be admitted to the College of Engineering
  3. Required: Submit an Engineering ZONE Application
  4. Required:  Attach "Letter of Interest" to the College of Engineering
  5. Optional Attachments:
    • Resume
    • List of Activities/Involvements
    • Application Essay
